Fundraising for responsible organizations is a great way to help children have the opportunity to attend school. We have some ideas below for different types of fundraisers. Be sure to check out the organizations and projects listed in our “Donate” section.

Here are some tips about fundraising before you get started:

• Before you donate to any project or organization, it’s always important to do your homework. Check out the organization’s website and make sure the organization is a registered non-profit. You may also want to check up on the organization’s financial documents. They are public and usually posted online.
• Also, it’s important to be 100% transparent about fundraising. Tell donors exactly which organizations and projects you plan to support. Provide them with information about the organization prior to asking for money.
• Consider keeping track of your donors. A personal thank you note or email will make them feel better about donating and more likely to give in the future.
