Hollywood star Jessica Alba is campaigning for a proposed ‘Education for all’ act to be passed by the US government.

She is supporting New York US congresswoman Nita Lowey for successful passage of the new bill which provides education for every child around the world.

The ‘Fantastic Four’ star also campaigned to other Congressional leaders to muster support for the bill, Contatcmusic reported.

“This is really a chance for us to make sure that every child gets an education. 72 million children in the world don’t have access to an education (and) 60 per cent of them are in Africa and most of them are girls,” said Alba after joining Lowey in Washington.

The 29-year-old actress recently visited some African countries where she visited schools and football foundations set up to help provide schooling for needy children.

US president Barack Obama has already pledged to donate USD 2 billion-a-year to help fund the proposed global education initiative.
