Call on President Obama to Include Education as a Global Development Priority

Because of you and your support of the Global Campaign for Education and the 1GOAL campaign, we have sent a strong message in support of universal quality education. Thank you for all that you do!

Unfortunately, some have not heard our voices yet. President Obama’s recently released Global Development Strategy, which outlines his Administration’s development priorities, does not include education as a development priority. This is unacceptable in a world where more than 72 million children are denied access to universal quality education.

You can speak out for those 72 million children by signing this petition to President Obama, calling on him to include education in his global development strategy.

Around the country, grassroots advocates are writing op-eds and letters in their local newspapers to show their support of education for all. Click here to read what people across the country are saying. In addition, in a recent op-ed, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan wrote “It’s hard to imagine a better world without a global commitment to providing better education for women and youth – including the 72 million children today who do not attend primary school.” We could not agree more, Mr. Secretary.

Tell President Obama that he cannot achieve his global development goals without making education a development priority. Click here to sign the petition.

With the support of education advocates like you, we can make a difference in the lives of 72 million children!
